İsrail ordusu, Şifa Hastanesi’ne baskın düzenledi.
İsrail’in abluka altına aldığı Gazze Şeridi’ne saldırılarında 40. güne girildi. İsrail ordusu, Gazze Şeridi’nin en büyük ve merkez hastanesi olan Şifa Hastanesi’ne baskın gerçekleştirdi. Filistin Sağlık Bakanlığı Sözcüsü Eşref el-Kudra, yaptığı açıklamada, "İsrail ordusu şu anda bodrumda arama yapıyor. Hastane kompleksinin içinde ateş ediyor ve bombalamalar gerçekleştiriyor" ifadelerini kullandı.
Filistin Sağlık Bakanlığı Hastaneler Müdürü Muhammed Zaqout da, İsrail güçlerinin ilk olarak ameliyathane ve acil servislere baskın düzenlediğini aktardı. Hastanedeki bir görgü tanığı ise, “Hastanenin içinde 6 tank ve 100’den fazla asker gördüm. Ana acil servise girdiler, bazı askerler maskeliydi ve ’kıpırdama’ diye bağırdılar" dedi.

Açıklamada, hastanede olduğu iddia edilen tüm Hamas mensuplarına "teslim ol" çağrısı yapıldığı belirtildi. ABD yönetimi de kendi istihbaratının İsrail’in istihbarat bilgileriyle örtüştüğünü duyurdu.

Şifa Hastanesi’ne gerçekleştirilen baskının ardından Hamas’tan yapılan açıklamada, ABD’nin söz konusu açıklamasıyla İsrail’e hastaneye baskın yapması için fiilen yeşil ışık yaktığı ifade edildi. Operasyondan tamamen İsrail ve ABD Başkanı Joe Biden’ın sorumlu tutulduğu vurgulandı.

ABD Ulusal Güvenlik Konseyi Stratejik İletişim Koordinatörü John Kirby ise, hastane baskının ardından yaptığı açıklamada, "Bir hastanenin havadan vurulmasını desteklemiyoruz ve masum insanların, çaresiz insanların, hak ettikleri tıbbi bakımı almaya çalışan hastaların çapraz ateşte kaldığı bir hastanede çatışma görmek istemiyoruz. Hastaneler ve hastalar korunmalı” ifadelerini kullandı.

İsrail ordusu, baskından önce ise Şifa Hastanesi’nin yoğun bakım ünitesini hedef aldı. Filistin Sağlık Bakanlığı tarafından paylaşılan görüntüde, saldırı sonrası yoğun duman nedeniyle doktorların nefes almakta zorluk çektiği görüldü.
İsrail yönetimi, Şifa Hastanesi’nin altında Hamas’ın komuta merkezinin bulunduğunu iddia ediyor. Hamas ise İsrail’in iddiasını yalanlıyor.
